Bangladesh has shown strong commitment to end preventable
child and maternal deaths by 2030 in the spirit of achieving universal health
coverage (UHC), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Ending Preventable Child
and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD). However, the progress status is not uniform
throughout the country. For decades, Rangpur division has lagged among other
rural areas of the country in health indicators, and over time this trend has
not changed significantly.
Save the Children has been implementing three
years long (March 2021 to December 2023) Mamota project in Gaibandha.
The project supports Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW)
to ensure access to quality health services. The project implements
through local partner SKS Foundation in Gaibandha.
The project is funded by Korean International Cooperation Agency
(KOICA) through Save the Children Korea.
